2024 Manifesto

Who We Are

The 100% Redress Party is a Donegal-based political party with one TD and four local councillors. We focus entirely on the issues that affect our communities. Our work is guided by lived experience of the defective concrete crisis and the daily realities of families in the county. We stand up for fairness and practical solutions rather than career politics.

Our Commitment to the Community

We are committed to rebuilding our community by listening to residents and providing solutions that make a real difference. We campaign on issues that matter locally, from housing and education to health, infrastructure, and opportunities for young people.

Vision and Mission

Our vision is a community where every citizen’s rights are respected and injustices are addressed. Our mission is to deliver full redress for those impacted by defective concrete, fight for justice, and create opportunities that strengthen local communities and services.

About Our Party

Founding Principles

The 100% Redress Party was founded to address the defective concrete crisis and other injustices that affect our communities. We are driven by fairness, accountability, and a commitment to practical action.

The Need for Redress

Many problems remain unaddressed, from housing to mental health, education, and local services. Our party focuses on practical solutions that improve everyday life for Donegal residents while staying true to our founding principle of justice for those impacted by defective concrete.

Core Policy Areas

Securing a Genuine 100% Redress Scheme

We will work to achieve a comprehensive scheme that covers all homes, commercial buildings, and community facilities affected by defective concrete. Grants and funding must cover all necessary repairs. Banks and insurers must share responsibility where appropriate.

Addressing Housing and Homelessness

We will work with local authorities to make better use of vacant properties and support immediate housing solutions for families in need. Partnerships with modular home providers may be explored. Defective concrete continues to affect housing stability, so resolving these issues is part of our approach.

Improving Mental and Physical Health Services

We will advocate for better local health supports, including physical and mental health services for all. We will push for support for families impacted by housing and structural issues. Community-based programmes will be supported to improve wellbeing and provide safe spaces for all residents.

Supporting Education and Opportunities for Young People

We will work to ensure schools have the resources they need, including support for teachers and classrooms. Local apprenticeship and training opportunities will be promoted so young people can gain skills close to home. We want young people to have the chance to learn, work, and thrive in Donegal without having to leave.

Securing a Genuine 100% Redress Scheme

People with disabilities must have equity in relation to education, health services, public spaces, and local community facilities. We will campaign for practical improvements in accessibility and for services that meet the needs of all residents.

Tourism and Local Economy

We will support Donegal’s tourism and local businesses by promoting the county, working to enhance infrastructure, and to improve accessibility. Tourism and local economic growth benefit everyone, including families affected by defective concrete and other challenges.

Transparency and Accountability in Government

Residents have the right to know how decisions are made by public bodies and how public funds are spent. We will use every opportunity to press for open local and national decision-making of State affiliated bodies, regular reporting, and community engagement to ensure fairness and accountability.

Rural Infrastructure

We will advocate for safer roads, reliable transport links, and better connectivity between towns and villages. Local infrastructure improvements support families, businesses, and vulnerable groups affected by housing and health issues.

Irish Language and the Gaeltacht

Leanann an Ghaeilge ar aghaidh i gcroílár na Gaeltachta agus tá sí in úsáid go laethúil ag go leor daoine lasmuigh den Ghaeltacht. A chinntiú go mbeidh an Ghaeilge níos feiceálaí inár sochaí, mar theanga labhartha agus i réimsí comharthaíochta agus litríochta chomh maith. Caithfear tacú le Raidió na Gaeltachta agus TG4 le bheith in ann cláracha d'ardchaighdeán a chur ar fáil.

Conclusion

The 100% Redress Party is Donegal-born, community-focused, and committed to fairness and justice. We are ordinary people standing up for ordinary people, delivering practical solutions to local challenges, including defective concrete, housing, education, health, and infrastructure.

Join us in rebuilding our community. Together, we can make Donegal a safer, fairer, and stronger place for all residents.
